Ms. SUBITHA THARMAKULASAGARAM
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Subitha is dedicated to assisting children and teens in crisis who suffer from emotional dysregulation, anxiety and depressive symptoms. Through her warm and compassionate approach, she strives to create an inclusive and accepting environment where clients feel comfortable discussing the challenges they face. Her therapeutic approach draws from various modalities, primarily rooted in cognitive behavioural and psychodynamic frameworks. By focusing on clients’ strengths, she guides them towards reaching their full potential through incremental and realistic goal setting, among other effective strategies.
Subitha holds a master’s degree (M.A.) in Counselling Psychology and is an active member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). For the past 13 years, Subitha has also actively served her native Tamil community as an advocate. Witnessing the impact of limited mental health services on her community inspired her to pursue a career as a therapist.
